How to Make Buffalo Chicken Pizza
-
Prep the pizza stone/pan: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Once heated, place the pizza stone or pan in the oven.
-
Prep the crust: If the crust is still in dough form, roll out the dough. Place the pizza crust on a large piece of parchment paper.
-
Add the toppings: In a bowl, combine the buffalo sauce and chicken. Spread a thin layer of ranch dressing on the pizza crust. Top the pizza with the buffalo chicken, green onion, mozzarella cheese, and blue cheese.
-
Bake: Remove the pizza pan or stone from the oven. Slide the pizza onto the pan and bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is crispy on the outside and cooked through (if using pizza dough). Finish with a sprinkle of chopped green onion and a drizzle of extra ranch dressing and buffalo wing sauce.
What are the toppings on this buffalo chicken pizza?
The toppings on this homemade pizza really are an awesome combination! Flavors you will be familiar with and that work so well together.
- Shredded chicken coated in Frank’s red hot sauce
- Ranch dressing
- Green onion
- Mozzarella cheese
- Blue cheese
It really takes no time at all to build the pizza and then into the oven it goes until it is melty and crispy. Pizza heaven!
Shredded Buffalo Chicken
For the shredded chicken, a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store works well. You can also cook 2 large chicken breasts in the Instant Pot or slow cooker or use any leftover cooked chicken that you have on hand. Then you just mix it with the hot sauce and you have yummy buffalo chicken ready to top your pizza with.
Buffalo Chicken Pizza with Ranch Dressing
Rather than use a tomato base for this pizza I opted for ranch dressing. A tomato base would really clash with the hot sauce, but the ranch perfectly balances out the heat from it. These are all the flavors of buffalo chicken wings but in pizza form!
Top Tips To Make This Recipe
- Any type of pizza crust will work, including pre-baked pizza crust, pre-made refrigerated pizza dough, homemade pizza dough, or cauliflower pizza crust.
- I like to use Frank’s Red Hot sauce for this pizza, but you can use your favorite brand.
- Cook the pizza in a preheated oven on a pizza stone or hot baking tray.
- Store any leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven.
