I love making this Buffalo chicken pizza recipe for Monday Night Football. It’s super easy to throw together with a few ingredients, and it really brings that game-day flavor. I top a pre-made pizza crust with ranch dressing, shredded Buffalo chicken, and plenty of melty mozzarella and blue cheese. It’s deliciously cheesy and bold, and it only takes 30 minutes. My kids love it when I make this homemade pizza for dinner!

Buffalo Chicken Ranch Pizza Recipe

Game day is all about the chicken wings, but I’m trying to bring that flavor to every kind of meal or appetizer I can. Cue this pizza recipe topped with shredded chicken coated in buffalo wing sauce, creamy ranch dressing, and plenty of cheese! I use a pre-made crust and leftover chicken to make it as quick and easy as possible.

My family is obsessed with this Buffalo chicken and ranch pizza, and I’m obsessed with how simple it is to make. It tastes even better than the one I used to buy from our local pizza shop, and it’s ready faster than they can deliver. My kids love helping me make it and they absolutely devour it!

One Simple Tip!

I used to bake my pizzas directly on the rack for the crispiest crust, but that can get messy when making homemade pizzas, especially if you’re starting with pizza dough. Instead, I use a pizza stone (an affordable and worthwhile investment!) that’s been preheated along with the oven. This ensures evenly-cooked and crispy pizza crust every time, without the mess! You can also use parchment paper to help with transferring your pizza to and from the pan.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Recipe

This 30-minutes Buffalo chicken ranch pizza is perfect for Monday Night Football. Topped with ranch dressing, shredded Buffalo chicken, and plenty of cheese!

Equipment

  • Pizza Stone (or Pizza Pan)
Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pizza crust (or 1 pound of pizza dough*)
  • 2½ cups shredded cooked chicken (**)
  • ½ cup Buffalo hot sauce (plus more, for serving)
  • ⅓ cup ranch dressing (plus more, for serving)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  • 2 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ⅓ cup crumbled blue cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉. Once heated, place the pizza stone or pan in the oven to preheat.
  • Place the pizza crust on a large piece of parchment paper. (If the crust is still in dough form, roll out the dough.)

  • In a bowl, combine Buffalo hot sauce and shredded cooked chicken.

  • Spread the ranch dressing in a thin layer on the pizza crust.

  • Top the pizza with the buffalo chicken.

  • Then top with chopped green onion, shredded mozzarella cheese, and crumbled blue cheese.

  • Remove the pizza pan or stone from the oven. Slide the pizza onto the pan and bake for 10-15 minutes; until the cheese is melted and bubbly, the crust is crispy on the outside, and dough is cooked through.

  • Finish with a sprinkle of chopped green onion, a drizzle of extra ranch dressing, and buffalo sauce to serve.

Notes

*Any type of pizza crust will work, including pre-baked pizza crust, pre-made refrigerated pizza dough, homemade pizza dough, or cauliflower pizza crust. Cook time will vary depending on the type of crust you use.
**Shredded chicken is my favorite for pizza, but a store-bought rotisserie chicken also works well. You can also cook 2 large chicken breasts in a slow cooker or use any leftover cooked chicken that you have on hand.
Tips:
  • You can use a pizza stone, pizza pan, or a large baking sheet/sheet pan. If baking a pre-made/partially-baked pizza crust directly on the rack, I recommend setting a pan on the rack beneath it. 
  • Fully preheating the oven and the pan will help ensure even cooking and crispy crust.
  • Using parchment paper helps with transferring the pizza to and from the pan. You can bake directly on parchment paper.
  • Additional pizza topping ideas: diced green bell pepper, red onion, or diced celery.
Storage: Store buffalo chicken pizza in the refrigerator for 3 days, or freeze for 3 months.

Note: Water, salt, pepper, oil, and broth are not counted as ingredients on this site.

How to Make Buffalo Chicken Pizza Step by Step

Prep: Preheat the oven to 425℉–once heated, place the pizza stone or pan in the oven to preheat. Gather the listed buffalo chicken pizza ingredients. Place 1 prepared pizza crust on a large piece of parchment paper. In a bowl, combine ½ cup of Buffalo hot sauce and 2½ cups of shredded cooked chicken.

Assemble the Pizza: Spread ⅓ cup of ranch dressing in a thin layer on the pizza crust. Then top the pizza with the buffalo chicken, 2 tablespoons of chopped green onion, 2 cups of freshly shredded mozzarella cheese, and ⅓ cup of crumbled blue cheese.

Bake and Serve: Remove the preheated pizza pan/stone from the oven, and slide the assembled pizza onto the pan. Bake it in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Finish this pizza with a sprinkle of chopped green onion, a drizzle of extra ranch dressing, and buffalo sauce to serve!

How to Store and Reheat

To store leftover Buffalo chicken pizza, allow it to cool, then place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven for the crispiest results.

Freeze individual slices of pizza tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and placed into Ziplock bags for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
