This grilled Buffalo chicken is something I make all the time in the summer and the one recipe that can get me to brave the cold and bust out my grill in the winter. I boldly season chicken breasts and smother them with Buffalo sauce before grilling them to tender, juicy perfection. The combination of spicy and smoky flavors is unbeatable… it’s perfect for Super Bowl Sunday!

Buffalo Chicken Recipe
There’s one day a year when I’ll break out my gas grill whether it’s snowing, raining, or below freezing, and that’s Super Bowl Sunday. This grilled Buffalo chicken is quintessential football food, and it just wouldn’t be game day without it. There are very few recipes my family demands I make again and again, but this is one of them, and for good reason. You just can’t beat the smoky char from the grill mixed with spicy Buffalo sauce. It’s truly one of my favorite foods to eat!

How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover Buffalo chicken breasts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. I recommend reheating in the air fryer or oven for the best results.
How to Freeze
Let the chicken cool to room temperature prior to freezing in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Let it defrost in the fridge for a few hours prior to reheating.

Notes and Tips
- If you prefer chicken thighs, you absolutely can make this recipe with those instead. They will require a slightly longer cooking time compared to breasts and be sure they are cooked evenly on the grill.
- Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your chicken breasts.
- To ensure that the chicken is cooked all the way through, use an instant-read thermometer. When inserted, it should register at 165°F.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute.
