Lemon Pepper Wings in the Air Fryer
I’ve always loved lemon pepper wings, but what makes these lemon pepper air fryer wings special is how little effort they take. Instead of marinating overnight or dealing with deep fryer cleanup, I simply toss the wings with olive oil and seasoning, let them chill while the air fryer preheats, then cook until golden and crispy. A quick squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end brings out a bright, tangy flavor that balances the richness of the chicken. It’s a foolproof way to get wings that taste just as good as my fav sports bar, but in a fraction of the time.

Finish with Fresh Lemon
Most recipes I’ve seen for air fryer lemon pepper chicken wings stop at the seasoning blend. But I’ve found that squeezing fresh lemon juice over the wings after they cook makes all the difference. It adds a fresh and zippy flavor you just can’t get from seasoning alone, making these wings mouthwateringly delicious ds a layer of freshness you won’t get from bottled seasoning alone.

How to Make Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer Step by Step
Prep: Gather up all of the ingredients needed to make these lemon pepper wings. Juice a fresh lemon for the best flavor.

Prep the Wings: Add 2 pounds of bone-in, skin-on chicken wing portions to a large resealable plastic bag. This will help contain the mess and ensure every bit of the wings gets coated with the seasonings.

Season the Wings: Drizzle 3 tablespoons of olive oil over the wings and pour 2 tablespoons of lemon pepper seasoning, 2 teaspoons of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder into the bag. Seal the bag without removing the excess air. The air space will allow the wings to move freely and get evenly coated.

Chill the Wings: Shake and toss the bag of wings to coat them evenly in the seasonings. Place the bag in the refrigerator to chill while you preheat your air fryer to 360°F.

Cook the Wings: Place the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the bottom of your prepared air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches, but it’s worth it. Proper air flow is key for ultra-crispy wings. Cook for 18 minutes at 360℉, tossing the wings every 6 minutes.

Crisp Up the Wings: Increase the temperature to 390℉ and cook for an extra 2 minutes to really crisp up the wings. Total cook time should be around 20 minutes, or until the wings reach 165°F internally. Remove the lemon pepper wings from your air fryer and squeeze 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice over top before serving.

How to Store and Reheat
Store air fryer lemon pepper chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, preheat your air fryer to 360°F and cook for 4 minutes; then turn the heat to 400°F and cook for another 5 minutes.
