Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs are quick, easy and foolproof! I’ve always found the stovetop method to be a little too difficult and tedious, but this recipe is so simple. Once I figured out how to hard boil eggs in my Instant Pot, I felt so much relief. Now I can get perfect, easy-to-peel eggs in about 20 minutes!

Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs (Instant Pot Recipe)
I absolutely love my Instant Pot for chicken, and it’s just as helpful for eggs! The main bonus of making hard boiled eggs in a pressure cooker is that it totally takes the guess work out of things. I just set the timer and let it do its thing. It’s really that easy! And don’t forget the ice bath. This step is important to stop the eggs from cooking longer, and it makes them easier to peel.
Depending on the size of your Instant Pot, you can cook up to eight eggs this way, all at once. This really comes in handy if I’m meal prepping breakfast, or if I’m planning to make egg salad or deviled eggs.

Notes
How to Make Hard Boiled Eggs in an Instant Pot Step by Step
Cook the Eggs: Fit the steamer rack trivet in the Instant Pot, and add 1 cup of water. Place as many eggs as you’d like to hard-boil (up to 8) on top of the trivet. Cover and seal the Instant Pot with the lid, and lock the steam valve. Select the manual mode setting and cook eggs for 5 minutes on HIGH pressure. Natural release for 5 minutes, then quick release.

Cool the Eggs: While the pressure is releasing, prep an ice bath. Fill a large bowl with 1 cup of water and add 2 cups of ice. It’s important that the water is very cold, so don’t let it warm up! As soon the the pressure is done releasing, place the hard-boiled eggs in the ice bath, and let them sit for 5 minutes.

Peel the Eggs: Remove the eggs from the ice bath and store or peel. To peel a hard-boiled egg, gently tap all sides on a hard surface, then roll it between your hands. Look for the natural air pocket as a good place to start peeling away the shell.
