When I’m looking for a fresh and flavorful dinner in a hurry, I make this air fryer chili lime chicken. A little tang, a little kick, and a little spice transforms boring chicken thighs into flavorful masterpieces. This chicken cooks quickly thanks to my air fryer, and the recipe uses just 5 simple ingredients I always keep on hand. No more boring chicken dinners here!
I love the air fryer! Using my air fryer is a great way to get dinner on the table with as little effort and time as possible. I was able to get this chicken on the table in just 20 minutes, and the skin was so crispy!
What’s in This Chili Lime Chicken Recipe?
- Chicken: I like to use bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs. However, you could do chicken legs, chicken strips, chicken wings, or chicken breasts if you like.
- Lime Juice: Adds fresh and zesty flavor to the chicken.
- Spices: Chili powder, garlic powder, and paprika add a nice savory and slightly spicy flavor to the chicken.

How to Store and Reheat
Store leftover chili lime chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating in a 350°F air fryer for 4-6 minutes.
Notes and Tips
- Instead of waiting until dinner time, marinate the chicken during the day for a fuller flavor.
- To help the chicken crisp, always turn, rotate or shake the air fryer basket about halfway through.
