Air-fried Maple Glazed Chicken Breast
This chicken breast is one of my favorite “back pocket” meals for weeknights or meal prep because it’s fast, foolproof, and always a crowd-pleaser. I love how cooking chicken breasts in the Air Fryer gives them a juicy interior and golden exterior without any fuss. The maple syrup glaze caramelizes slightly while cooking, coating the chicken in a sweet and sticky sauce with just a hint of saltiness to balance it out. The glaze is optional, but it adds so much flavor!

Marinate for Deeper Flavor
If you like, marinate the chicken breasts in maple syrup for 30-60 minutes before air frying them. This will give the glaze time to seep into the chicken and really pack in the flavor.
Air Fryer Chicken Breast Recipe
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (10-16 ounces each, trimmed)
Maple Glaze (Optional):
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer to 380℉ for 5 minutes while preparing chicken breasts.
- Using a small spoon or pastry brush, brush the top of each chicken breast with maple syrup.2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and salt.2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- Divide rub equally and press on top of each chicken breast, pressing into the syrup so it is covered evenly.
- Place prepared chicken breast in the Air Fryer basket. Select chicken, making sure the temperature is 380℉. Cook time is 16-20 minutes. Be sure to flip chicken over halfway to cook evenly.
- (Optional) Drain the juices from the tray and baste the chicken breast again before serving.
- Let chicken breast rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve as desired.
Notes
- If using smaller chicken breasts (4-8 oz each) halve the recipe using the following amounts: 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1 1/2 teaspoons maple syrup. Cook time is 12-15 minutes.
- The cooking time for larger breasts will be slightly longer, at 20 minutes. I did ten minutes on each side.
Note: Water, salt, pepper, oil, and broth are not counted as ingredients on this site.
Seasoning Ideas
I love the maple and brown sugar glaze because of the way it caramelizes in the Air Fryer. But this simple air-fried chicken can be made with any marinade, seasonings, or spices you prefer. Keep it simple with my favorite chicken seasoning or start with a teriyaki marinade. Italian seasoning or your preferred mix of herbs and spices all work here!

How to Store, Freeze, and Reheat
Store leftover air fryer chicken breasts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for 3 months. Reheat chicken breasts in a preheated Air Fryer until warmed through.
