How to make fried chicken and broccoli
Be sure to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions!

- Fry the chicken pieces and set to one side.
- Cook the broccoli in a microwave.
- Mix together the sauce.
- Pour the sauce into a pan and cook for 5 minutes.

Can you make this with chicken thighs?
Chicken breast or thighs both work great in this recipe, it’s totally down to your preference. Just be aware that chicken thighs can take a minute or two more to cook through, so double check they are fully done.
Can you add other vegetables?
Yes! This recipe is easy to adapt to your tastes, and adding in some additional veggies is a great option.
Carrot sticks, bell peppers and mushrooms are all great additions. Just cook them before you add them to the sauce so that they are nice and tender.
What do you serve it with?
This fried chicken and broccoli is great to serve with boiled Jasmine or Basmati rice, or egg noodles or cauliflower rice. I like to garnish it with some sesame seeds and some sliced green onion for freshness.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Cut the chicken into similar sized pieces so that they cook through evenly.
- The quickest way to cook the broccoli before adding it to the sauce is in the microwave, but you can steam or boil it.
- I like to use vegetable oil for frying, but any high heat oil will work well.
This fried chicken and broccoli is such an effortless weeknight meal, but the sauce is so flavorful and tangy. This is a great addition to your weekly dinner rota.

Thanks for sharing this quick and delicious snack item. I love broccoli to be a little spicy but this one looks attractive. Looking forward to trying out this recipe. But I would love to add my favorite ingredient to this recipe instead of vegetable oil, which is ghee butter. Just a light drizzle of ghee on the top will also provide it a nutritious boost
